Your Energy Performance Survey

Once we are engaged to produce an Energy Performance Certificate for you, North East EPC will be in contact to discuss your property and answer any questions you may still have about the process. We will also send you a pre-inspection questionnaire which will allow the Domestic Energy Assessor to gain a greater understanding of your property and plan the survey before they arrive.

We will also liase with you to arrange a time for one of our Domestic Energy Assessors to visit your property to conduct the survey. We understand that the occupants have other commitments and so we endeavour to arrange a time and date of survey to suit your convenience, working around your schedule to ensure your EPC is delivered swiftly and without inconveniencing you or any other occupants.

The Property Inspection

When our Domestic Energy Assessor arrives, they will need to inspect your property and take notes upon the following details:-

dot The year the property was constructed.
dot The internal or external area of the home.
dot Notes relating to home and room layout, including a sketch of the property.
dot Wall type and roof construction.

dot Make and model of boiler and the type of flue and fuel used.
dot Type of heating system used and how it is controlled, wall thermostats, timers etc.
dot Type and thickness of the hot water cylinder jacket or foam (if cylinder present).
dot Number of double glazed windows and when they were installed.

dot Notes on any conservatories or extensions and when they were constructed.
dot Note the number of habitable rooms that are heated.
dot Number of low energy light-bulbs present.
